PAY IT FORWARD TOUR FAQs
What does a typical day on this trip look like?
Volunteer for approximately 3 hours in the morning, tour the city we're in for 3-4 hours, drive to the next city for 2-5 hours, arrive at housing site and eat dinner, nightly activities for 2-3 hours, free time, sleep, and do it all again the next morning!
Who goes on these trips?
Spontaneous, excited or nervous, excited college students from all majors, hometowns, interests, and walks of life. We'd highly recommend coming on this trip either alone or with friends. Either way, you'll make tons of new friends quickly.
What types of volunteering do you do?
Depends! We do our best to have a unique service opportunity at each city we stop in, and we're pretty awesome at finding great organizations to volunteer for. We've helped clean up neighborhoods affected by hurricanes, built beds for kids, worked with the homeless and elderly, and painted and cleaned buildings, parks, and more.
Who leads these trips?
Our organization is completely student run by Core members. Trips are planned by Bus Core who plan and execute an endless variety of things that make the trip work. Chapter Core assists with things such as community events, fundraising, marketing, and finances. All Core Members have been on at least one Pay It Forward Tour before, so you're in good hands.
What can I expect to get from this experience?
It's hard to encapsulate just how much you'll get from this trip, but here goes: a busload of new friends, incredible conversations with incredible people, the most unique travel experiences, volunteer opportunities for eternally grateful organizations, leadership skills, and personal growth. It's truly the most unique road trip you'll ever go on.
